FAQ's

How much does it cost?

Cost is largely dependant on the individual package being delivered for a client and all that encompasses it – the time it takes, the effort, the features being included in a package, etc. However, VCN can guarantee that non-profits will save money with their packages compared to similar ones being provided by private companies, which may cost upwards of $10,000.* Our packages start at a more modest $600.

More than that, VCN | webteam's packages also save additional costs in the long-run. With our web packages, free training is provided to teach you how to maintain your website after the launch – saving time and money that could have been spent on a webmaster.

What resources will I need?

Clients will need three things for a finished product on web or print platforms:

  • goal: the purpose of your website or print product – the main message you want to project to your clients and the public

  • images: a web site (or any communications material) is only as good as the quality of your images. Please make sure that you also have copyrights or rights to use them.

  • content text: prepared text to use on your materials to support your graphics and organization's mandate

How much time does it take?

Like money, time is also largely determinant on the client and their agreement with VCN | webteam. Our web packages take a minimum of one month from consultation to launch, though website packages average one-three months, depending on client content. However, clients can save three-four weeks from delays if they come prepared with web content and a site map already in mind.

For your print-based needs, the turnaround time should be within a week plus the printing time, provided that content and/or graphics have already been prepared.

What sets you apart from other web design organizations?

Non-profits typically use the work of freelancers and volunteers to get their work done – including their communications materials. These volunteers and freelancers may come and go unexpectedly, leaving an organization in a lurch. Websites may break down and need upkeeping or graphic design might need updating. With the VCN | webteam, support is always available and continuous. We make it our mandate to frequently rewrite the bad reputation that freelancers tend to leave behind.

Born out of an observation that quality and affordable web services were not operating in Vancouver, the VCN | webteam was created to fulfill this gap to become the only non-profit to provide website optimization and websites for non-profits.

We acknowledge that choosing a new web designer often means trusting to a stranger one of the most visible manifestations of the important work you do. The designer must, of course,  have particular qualifications, but it still boils down to a question of trust.

We exist to help non-profits, community organizations, associations and social justice groups achieve their goals. VCN | webteam shares your values and values your contribution. Our mission is to provide you with effective communication tools. Everything flows from that mission, which means we take our contribution and our performance very seriously — and we're excited by the kind of work we're fortunate enough to do.
